ACTIONS AND INTENTIONS

بسم اللہ الرحمن الرحیم

السلام علیکم ورحمتہ اللہ و برکاتہ

As this is the start of our blog, I thought this was the most suitable hadith to write about. Although ALHUMDULILLAH many of us already know it and must have heard and read it many times but it is 'the most important' to have a right 'niyyah' before doing any work (good of course) as our Prophet Muhammed (Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam) said:

On the authority of Omar bin Al - Khattab, who said: I heard the messenger of Allah Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam say: "Actions are but by intention and every man shall have but that which he intended. Thus he whose migration was for Allah and His messenger, his migration was for Allah and His messenger, and he whose migration was to achieve some worldly benefit or to take some woman in marriage, his migration was for that for which he migrated."

( Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim )

On the basis of this hadith, our niyyah (intention) is the most important. Our actions will be judged according to our niyyah and we will be answerable to ALLAH Subhaanahu wa Taa'la. It is very important to have Ikhlaas (sincerity) in our actions in order for them to be accepted by Him.

'Ikhlaas' means to do every action sincerely, be it internal or external, with the intention to please Allah Taa'la irrespective of people being pleased with you or
not, and expecting reward only from Him believing that Allah Taa'la is All Hearing, All Watching.

May Allah Taa'la bless us with ikhlaas in our niyyah and bless us with the taufiq to do the right thing, the right way with the intention to please Him alone....AMEEN
