"Muhammad As If You Can See Him" - BOOK REVIEW

Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu

Dear Reader,

Today, I will be sharing my thoughts on a book with you :)

I came across it when we had to read a book on the Seerah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (sal Allahu alahi wa sallam) for a book club meeting. I had initially decided to read the biography written by Martin Lings but due to time constraints I decided to go ahead in search of a comprehensive but succinct description on the life of our Prophet.

I couldn't be happier for happening to stumble upon this specific one. The book is entitled "Muhammad As If You Can See Him" and written by the well known Dr. Aid Al-Qarni. He is also author of the ever so popular and one of my favourite books ever- "Don't Be Sad".

The book consists of only about 171 pages, which forms the main content of the book.

Dr. Al-Qarni uses simple, but beautiful and powerful ways to describe the various qualities of the Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) in this work. He starts by briefly going over the story of Prophet hood.  After that, each section of the book pertains to describing one quality (amongst the many) of the Prophet. The various qualities include his patience, his truthfulness, his generosity, his Zuhd, bravery, humbleness, mercy, laughter, and so on. For someone who wants to know how the Prophet was in a certain aspect, they can look it up in the contents and go straight to that particular section, making the organisation of the book very user-friendly and also very helpful for any second or third reads in the same manner.

This book is now one of my favourite books I have ever read. I wished it could go on more, to learn more new things about the Prophet that I had never known before, and work on increasing love for him. For whatever Rasul Allah (Sallalahu alaihi wasallam) has done for us, we can never repay him. Except by loving and emulating him in all aspects of our lives. Even that would be less, for it would only contribute to our own well-being and in our relationship with Allah subhanahu wa taala.

I loved it because it truly made me know my Prophet "as if I can see him". You can feel the Dr.'s love of the Prophet himself which aids the reader in loving the Prophet as well (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam).

I learned so many new things about the beautiful and perfect character of the Prophet. Reading each quality makes one feel so intimate to the Prophet, and long to be with him more than ever. Although each and every quality is to be loved and learned from, one of the qualities which stunned me to an amazing manner was his generosity. Perhaps it impacted me so immensely because it is something deficient in myself which I need to work on.

The entire book seems like a mirror to check myself with. To emulate the Prophet, his tremendous character and perfect example with.

This book will give a wonderful insight into the life of the Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) for all the Muslims. After reading this, one's desire to learn more about him increases to a degree higher than ever before.

I wish to share so much more about my thoughts on the book, but there is only so much I can write here in one post. Reading the book itself alone can truly make one feel the beauty of its contents.

May Allah subhanahu wa taala bless us with the Sunnah in all its inward and outward dimensions, and may He increase the love for the Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) in our hearts more than all of mankind. Ameen.

Allahumma salle aala Muhammad <3

Etiquette and rules of the Mosque

Etiquette and rules of the Mosque

There are etiquette and rules that should be learned and upheld by every Muslim. We should teach our families and children these rules and remind other Muslims to uphold these rules.

Whenever anyone enters into a Mosque, one must remain conscious of these etiquette –

1. Read the Dua for entering the Mosque and enter with right foot
'A'oothu billaahil-'Adheem, wa bi-Wajhihil-Kareem, wa Sultaanihil-qadeem, minash-Shaytaanir-rajeem.
[Bismillaahi, wassalaatu.]
[Wassalaamu 'alaaRasoolillaahi.]  Allaahum-maftah lee 'abwaaba rahmatika.

I seek refuge in Almighty Allah, by His Noble Face, by His primordial power, from Satan the outcast.
[In the Name of Allah, and blessings.] [And peace be upon the Messenger of Allah.]
O Allah, open before me the doors of your mercy.

2. Greet Salam to the People in the mosque.

3. Pray two rak'at tahiyyatul Masjid upon entry into the Masjid-
The prophet (Peace be upon Him) said: "If any one of you enters the mosque then he should not sit until he prays two rak’ats" [AL-Bukhari and Muslim] if after having offered his Asr Salah a person enters a mosque before sunset, he can offer two raka’ahs Tahiyyatul Masjid (prayer after entering mosque) before sitting which is a recommended Sunnah.

4. Do not skip rows or skip people.

5. When Jama’at begins, the first rows should be completed first, with both the right and left hand sides balanced equally.

6. Do not pass in front of someone who is still praying-
The Prophet (S.A.W.) said, "If the passer in front of the praying person knew how much sin he committed, it would have been better for him to wait for forty (days, months, years) than to pass in front of him." [Bukhari & Muslim]

Do:-

1.   It is always best to leave the house with wudhu.
2.   Wear nice, clean and tidy clothes.
3.   Keep smiling; do not sit with sad/disappointed face.
4.   More Zikr of Allah and Peace on Rasool.
5.   Keep the mosque neat and clean; arrange the book shelf properly after reading the Quran.
6.   Always keep quiet.
7.   Sit properly, keep space for others.

8.   Do Zikr in a low voice, not loudly.
9.   Keep you mobiles on silent/vibration.
10. Control your children in a nice manner, do not scream/scold/beat them.
11. Listen to Qutbah silently with concentration.
12. Greet people before leaving, and Read the dua. And leave with left foot first.

Don’t:-

1. Do not enter the mosque if consumed anything with awful smell- Garlic/Onion/Cigarette etc.
2. Do not distract people who are praying or reading Quran by talking on the phone or anything else.
3. Do not Talk/laugh/giggle/judge others.
4. Do not be selfish while sitting, give others space as well.
5. Do not cry loudly during the duwas. Be humble.

10.Do not push others while leaving the mosque, be patient.
11.  Do not put too much of perfume, for its very distracting.
12. Do not waste time, instead read the Quran.

MARITAL DISTRESS!

Marital distress is one of the most common and disturbing human problems

1. The problem mainly occurs when there are misunderstandings between husband and wife.

Whatever one wants to share with the other should be honest and very clear to the topic. To truly know another, we must be interested in knowing how they exactly feel and not be selfish. The problem occurs mostly when one says “you never understood me” If we listened as well as we spoke, really would make things better.

2. Another distress occurs when we are ungrateful.

We complain and complain about unfulfilled expectations, expecting things over and over again, and getting disappointed for life and being ungrateful.
E.g- Husband brings everything his wife asks for, just forgets one thing then the wife goes like “you never did anything for me” This is ungratefulness
E.g- Wife cooks delicious food every time, once the salt destructed the food, Husband yells and says “you never make good food”
These things Should be avoided. Always be thankful, keep smiling and avoid unnecessary yelling.

 3. Not giving Wife her Haqq and not giving Husband his Haqq-

It is forbidden for a woman to refuse her Husband’s sexual desires. Whenever he desires sexual contact, she must not refuse him, unless she has a valid Islamic excuse.

Abu Huraira (Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) said:
By the one in whose hands is my life, there is not a man who calls his wife for sexual intimacy and she refuses him except that Allah becomes angry with her until her husband is pleased with her. (Sahih Muslim, No. 1436)

4. Don’t delve into your spouse’s past-

Any problems related to past relationships will cause married life to be poisoned by jealousy, taunts, blaming, being suspicious etc. It only matters the most when the person hasn't changed, if he/she is changed then just LET IT GO! Its Allah who judges. It was a mistake, got to learn some new good things after such horrible experiences in the past. Forgive, be happy and pray for patience.

“Verily, the shaitaan flows through man the flowing of blood. And indeed, i feared that he would cast evil into your hearts (ie, evil suspicion).” Reported by Bukhari 3281

5. Cleanliness and Adornment is a MUST!
Cleanliness plays an important role in ones life, even after getting married one must maintain their hygiene and be neat and clean. Islam teaches us to maintain a high level of both inner purity and outward personal hygiene. A wife must never forget to be well dressed up when the husband is home. She should always take care of her hygiene, ie. Clipping nails, remove pubic hair, take proper shower, apply musk and wear neat elegant clothes. Same goes to the Husbands- women don’t like it when men look dirty, uncombed hair, hair under arms, smelly. Should be avoided!

"Allah loves those who turn to Him constantly and He loves those who keep themselves pure and clean." [2: 22]

POLITICS IN ISLAM

ASSALAM O ALAIKUM READERS,

Definition of Politics:   The science of government; that part of ethics which has to do with the regulation and government of a nation or state, the preservation of its safety, peace, and prosperity, the defense of its existence and rights against foreign control or conquest, the augmentation of its strength and resources, and the protection of its citizens in their rights, with the preservation and improvement of their morals.

Politics is not munkar - is not a depravity - real politics is noble virtuous because it administers the affairs of all creatures, bringing man closer to good and away from fasad - evil. According to Ibn al-Qayyim, politics is really the justice of Allah the Almighty and His Prophet (peace and the blessings of Allah be upon him).

What are political aspects in Islam?

Political aspects of Islam are derived from Quran & Sunnah (The saying and living habits of Prophet Mohammad SAW), Muslim history & elements of political movement outside Islam. Traditional Political concepts in Islam include Leadership, by elective or selective successors to the Prophet known as the Caliphs. The importance of Islamic laws or shariah, The duty of rulers to seek shura (consultation) from their subjects & the importance of rebuking & just rules.

The Prophet Muhammad SAW. was a politician as well as the messenger conveying the message of Allah's oneness - teacher, Qadi - Chief Justice, Head of the nation and Imam of the ummah. The Khulafa' al Rasyidun - the rightly guided leaders who succeeded him were also politicians following the Sunnah - way of the Prophet, establishing just administration, practicing ihsan - the betterment of good and providing the leadership of 'ilm - knowledge and Iman - belief.

The following hadith establishes the principle of rule of law of Prophet Mohammad SAW:

Narrated ‘Aisha: The people of Quraish worried about the lady from Bani Makhzam who had committed theft. They asked, "Who will intercede for her with Allah's Apostle?" Some said, "No one dare to do so except Usama bin Zaid the beloved one to Allah's Apostle." When Usama spoke about that to Allah's Apostle Allah's Apostle said: "Do you try to intercede for somebody in a case connected with Allah’s Prescribed Punishments?" Then he got up and delivered a sermon saying, "What destroyed the nations preceding you, was that if a noble amongst them stole, they would forgive him, and if a poor person amongst them stole, they would inflict Allah's Legal punishment on him. By Allah, if Fatima, the daughter of Muhammad (my daughter) stole, I would cut off her hand."

In Islam there is the equal subjection of all classes to the ordinary law of the land, where no person is above the law and where officials and private citizens are under a duty to obey the same law. A Qadi (Islamic judge) was also not allowed to discriminate on the grounds of religion, race, color, kinship or prejudice. There were also a number of cases where Caliphs had to appear before judges as they prepared to take their verdict.

Politics of Modern Era:

However in the present time, due to 'politics' man faced suffering as a result of deceit and political ploys and scheming and devious politicians, whether in the form of past colonialists, treacherous rulers, tyrannical leaders and regimes preaching.

It became common to label and describe committed Muslims as 'political' so that they are regarded warily and wickedly for the purpose of disassociating and furthering apart the people from them, intending that society will shun and hate what is called 'political Islam'. It has been such that symbols of Islam like the headscarf, the proper attire and congregational prayers - Salat jama'ah are attempted to be labelled 'political'. It is a blatant lie for those who say that there is no religion in politics and that there is no politics in religion.

From the understanding of the Prophet's SAW tradition:

Munkar (transgression) is not limited to (khamr) - liquor, gambling and (zina) - unlawful sex but degrading and defiling the honour and dignity of the people and citizens is a major transgression, so is cheating in the elections, refusing to give testimony - neglecting to vote, letting government be in the hands of those who are not deserving and undesired, stealing and squandering the nation's wealth and property, monopolizing the people's needs for personal gains or cronies' interests, detaining people without crime or just cause, without judgement from a fair court, torturing human beings in prison and the detention camps, giving, accepting and mediating in bribes, cowering up to, praising evil rulers, allowing the enemies of Allah and the enemies of the Muslim community to be leaders and shunning the believers.

We can see the image of politicians in the following picture which clearly depicts that more than half of the politicians are corrupted & the ratio of honest and hard working politicians is very low.

Our Political Responsibility: Islam requires that every Muslim has political responsibility. A Muslim is required by his Iman - faith to be truly concerned with the affairs and problems of the ummah - community, helping and defending the meek and the weak, fighting tyranny and oppression. By retreating and abstaining oneself, it will only invite divine retribution and being seized by the flames of hell.

True Islamic Democracy: Democracy is the simplest and proper way to achieve the aims of a noble life, to be able to invite all to Allah and Islam, to be able to call others to Iman without having our souls being imprisoned and our bodies sentenced to be executed by hanging. It is the space for a free and honorable nation to have the right to choose, evaluate the ruler, change governments without coups and without bloodshed.

The gist of democracy is that the public, the people can choose the rulers who are going to administer them; the people having the right to select, criticize and terminate; and the people are not forced to accept systems, trends, and policies which they do not agree to and they are not abused. They are free to hold elections, referendums, ensuring majority rights, protecting minority rights, having opposition, have multi parties, have press freedom and safeguarding the independence of the judiciary. But once again to constantly uphold and safeguard the principles of Islam, the firm rulings, the determined laws, the essentials of religion and the non-ijtihadi must not be compromised or neglected.

FASTING IN THE MONTH OF RAMADAN AND ITS SIGNIFICANCE

Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, may be 29 or 30 days long. An Islamic month begins with the sighting of the new crescent in the western horizon, immediately after sunset.

WHAT IS FASTING?

Literally, fasting means to abstain or stay away from something.

In Islamic Terminology, it is an act of worship for Allah Ta'ala in which one abstains from things which break the fast (like eating drinking) from dawn till sunset.

What is the ruling on fasting?

Allah says in the Quran:

'O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you, even as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may attain God-consciousness. (2:183)

Its obligatory to fast in this month as Allah Ta'ala says in the Quran- fasting is prescribed for you.

Also the Prophet(peace be upon him) said that fasting in Ramadan is a pillar of Islam.

WHEN ONE MUST FAST?

Muslims look towards the western horizon for the new moon on the 29th day of Shaban, the eighth month. If the new moon is sighted, Ramadan has begun with the sunset but fasting begins with the next dawn. If the new moon is not sighted on this 29th day, Muslims complete 30 days of Shaban and Ramadan begins the following day. If the moon is concealed then count 30 days of ramadan and complete 30 days of fasting.

Narrated Ibn Umar: I heard Allah’s Apostle saying, “When you see the crescent (of the month of Ramadan), start fasting, and when you see the crescent (of the month of Shawwal), stop fasting; and if the sky is overcast (and you can’t see It) then regard the crescent (month) of Ramadan (as of 30 days)”.

Sahih Bukhari :: Book# 31 :: Hadith# 124

SIGNIFICANCE OF FASTING

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Apostle said, “Allah said, ‘All the deeds of Adam’s sons (people) are for them, except fasting which is for Me, and I will give the reward for it.’ Fasting is a shield or protection from the fire and from committing sins. If one of you is fasting, he should avoid sexual relation with his wife and quarreling, and if somebody should fight or quarrel with him, he should say, ‘I am fasting.’ By Him in Whose Hands my soul is’ The unpleasant smell coming out from the mouth of a fasting person is better in the sight of Allah than the smell of musk. There are two pleasures for the fasting person, one at the time of breaking his fast, and the other at the time when he will meet his Lord; then he will be pleased because of his fasting.”

Sahih Bukhari :: Book# 31 :: Hadith# 128

The significance that we come to know from the above hadith are:

1-Allah Ta'ala will reward for this act of worship Himself. No one will be given the share of that reward except that person unlike the other deeds because its a hidden act of worship and a person does it sincerily for Allah Ta'ala.
2- Fasting is a shield from sins, so a person indulges more in goodness. When fasting, blood flow is restricted and the blood vessels are constricted, satans path is also tightened, therefore its easy to do good in this month.
3-The breath of the fasting person is sweeter to Allah then the fragrance of musk on the day of judgement.
4-There our two occasions of joy for the one fasting.

Narrated Sahl: The Prophet said, “There is a gate in Paradise called Ar-Raiyan, and those who observe fasts will enter through it on the Day of Resurrection and none except them will enter through it. It will be said, ‘Where are those who used to observe fasts?’ They will get up, and none except them will enter through it. After their entry the gate will be closed and nobody will enter through it.”

Sahih Bukhari :: Book# 31 :: Hadith# 120

4-The fasting muslims will enter through a special gate called Ar-Rayyan.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE MONTH OF RAMADAN

"In the month of Ramadan, the Quran, a book of guidance with proofs of guidance distinguishing right from wrong, was revealed. Therefore, whoever of you is present in that month let him fast. But who is ill or on a journey shall fast a similar number of days later on. Allah desires your well-being, not your discomfort. He desires you to fast the whole month so that you may magnify Him and render thanks to Him for giving you His guidance." 2:185

1-Quran was revealed in this month and Allah Ta'ala orders His slaves to fast.

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Apostle said, “When the month of Ramadan starts, the gates of the heaven are opened and the gates of Hell are closed and the devils are chained.”

Sahih Bukhari :: Book# 31 :: Hadith# 123

2-The devils and rebellious jinn are chained up. And the gates of Hell are closed while the gates of paradise are opened.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, “Whoever established prayers on the night of Qadr out of sincere faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven; and whoever fasts in the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith, and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven.”

Sahih Bukhari :: Book# 31 :: Hadith# 125

3-Fasting in the month of ramadan with iman and seeking reward leads to forgiveness of past sins.

Ibn Abbas relates that Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said "Umrah in Ramadan is like accompanying me on Hajj". Sahih al- Bukhari (1764)

4-Umrah in ramadan is like accompanying the prophet on Hajj.

THINGS TO DO IN RAMADAN

1-Making the intention to fast collectively at the beginning of the month or for every fast niyah has to be made before fajr. Women should renew their niyah after completion of mensturation.
2-Doing sahari before dawn.Anas reported that the Messenger of Allah said: "Eat Suhoor, for there are blessings in it." [al-Bukhari and Muslim]

3-Establishing prayers. Maintaining our faraid (obligations) dutifully.

4-Saying the Azkhar and all the selected innovations (supplicating and remembering Allah.)

5-Refraining from performing any actions that don't befit fasting.
Fasting is a type of worship that draws one closer to Allah. Allah has prescribed it to purify the soul and to train it in good deeds. The fasting person must be on guard against any act that may cause him to lose the benefits of his fast. Thus, his fast will increase his Taqwa, and Allah says in the Qur'an [in meaning]: "O you who believe, fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you so perchance you may attain Taqwa."

Abu Hurairah also reported the Prophet (S) as saying: "Whoever does not abandon falsehood in word and action, then Allah Mighty and Majestic has no need [i.e. will not accept] that he should leave his food and drink".[Bukhari]

6-Using the siwak (tooth pick brush)-It is preferred for the fasting person to use a tooth stick or a brush. There is no difference if he uses it at the beginning or the ending of the day.
Aisha said, "The Prophet said, "It (i.e. Siwak) is a purification for the mouth and it is a way of seeking Allah's pleasures." [Bukhari]

7-Reciting the Quran with understanding and pondering over Its Ayats seeking the recognition of Allah through His Names and Attributes which increases our faith and leads to piety which is the sole purpose of this month, and this God consciousness remains for the days to come.

Being generous and studying the Qur'an is recommended during all time, but it is especially stressed during the month of Ramadan. Al-Bukhari recorded that Ibn 'Abbas said: "The Prophet was the most generous of people, but he would be his most generous during Ramadan when he would meet with [the angel] Jibreel (Gabriel). He would meet with him every night and recite the Qur'an. When Jibreel met him, he used to be more generous than a fast wind."

8-Cleanse your heart from any grudges or bad feelings against others forgive them and fill it up with piety, also purify it from the diseases like arrogance, envy, hypocrisy etc.

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, Allah does not look at your appearance or wealth, but rather He looks at your hearts and actions."

The prophet (sallalahu alaihi wasallam) also said, 'Surely there is in the body a small piece of flesh; if it is good, the whole body is good, and if it is corrupted, the whole body is corrupted, and that is surely the heart’. [Related by Imam Bukhārī in his sahih]

9-Hastening to break ones fast preferably with ruthab dates as done by our Prophet (peace be upon him).

Sahl ibn Sa`d reported that the Prophet (Sallalahu alaihi wasallam) said: "The people will not cease to be upon good as long as they hasten in breaking the fast." [Bukhari and Muslim].

10-Establishing taraweeh and the lilatul Qadr(prayer of night of decree)
Narrated ‘Aisha: With the start of the last ten days of Ramadan, the Prophet used to tighten his waist belt (i.e. work hard) and used to pray all the night, and used to keep his family awake for the prayers.
Sahih Bukhari :: Book# 32 :: Hadith# 241

Narrated ‘Aisha: Allah’s Apostle used to practice Itikaf in the last ten nights of Ramadan and used to say, “Look for the Night of Qadr in the last ten nights of the month of Ramadan”

Sahih Bukhari :: Book# 32 :: Hadith# 237

11-Giving charity sadaqah and zakat.

“The best charity is that given in Ramadhan.” [At-Tirmithi].

“He who feeds a fasting person will gain the same reward as he will, without decreasing from the fasting person’s rewards.” [Ahmad].

12-Performing Umrah.

THE NULLIFIERS OF THE FAST

1-Eating and Drinking Intentionally- one has to make up for it later and seek repentance. If someone does so forgetting that he is fasting, the fast remains correct and he continues to fast till sunset. If water unintentionally comes to one's throat while washing his mouth then it doesn't break the fast.
2-Sexual Intercourse- one must make up that day and expiate the sin of this act by freeing a slave and if he cannot do that, he must fast 2 consecutive months if he is not able to do either of those, he must feed 60 poor people and seek repentance.

3-Vomiting deliberately- one must make up that day and seek forgiveness from Allah.
4-Injections which provide nutrition like saline drops (injections given in the vessels)- one is required to make up and do tawbah.
5-Dialysis -making up and tawbah required.
6-Menstruation and nifaas (post natal bleeding)-Making up only required.
7-Ejaculation due to kissing, hugging or masturbation, etc.- making up for that day and seeking forgiveness. There is nothing due for wet dreams.
8-Letting blood, by means such as cupping (hijama) or blood donation- making up and tawbah required. A little amount for medical examination or unintentional bleeding like a wound doen't nullify the fast.
9-Nasal sprays and nasal drops- making up and tawbah required. Eye drops inhaler, oxygen mask don't nullify the fast.

THOSE ALLOWED NOT TO FAST

1-Women in their monthly menses and postpartum bleeding must break the fast.

2-It is sunnah for the traveler to break his fast if the journey is long enough to allow shortened prayers and if fasting is difficult for him.
3-It is allowed for a women who is pregnant or nursing to break the fast if she fears any harm on the child or herself.

AL BAQARAH 184

All types of people mentioned above must make up the days missed. The pregnant or nursing women should additionally feed a poor person for every day missed if she breaks her fast because she fears harm for the child only.

4-If a person breaks his fast because of aging or because of chronic disease from which it is not expected that he will recover, then he must feed a needy person for every day of Ramadan, and he doesn't have to make up those day.

Who ever postpones making up the days he missed until the next Ramadan due to legitimate excuse, only needs to make them up. If his postponement was not for a legitimate excuse, then he must make up the missed days in addition to feeding a needy person for each day he didn't make up.

This has been a common phenomenon that people discriminate muslim women and take her under the category of country's women rights  ( "saying islam ask for hijab and covers her and hide her and dis respect her identity " ) , but muslim womens should know they dont need a country to give them their rights , their religion has given them their rights , in each and every prospect ALLAH subhanawatAllah has given a women complete rights, indeed we should be thankful for this religion which came into existence and gave women a new light of honour ! ( Alhamdulillah )

Women's Human rights:-

In reality, and in Islam, the rights and responsibilities of a woman are equal to those of man, but they are not necessarily identical with them. Equality and sameness are two very different things. I think you’ll agree that, for one thing, women and men are physically very different from one another, although they are equal to each other in other important ways.

In the West, women may be doing the same job that men do, but their wages are often less. The rights of Western women in modern times were not created voluntarily, or out of kindness to the female. The modern Western woman reached her present position by force, and not through natural processes or mutual consent of Divine teachings. She had to force her way, and various circumstances aided her. Shortage of manpower during wars, pressure of economic needs and requirement of industry forced women to leave their homes to work, struggling for their livelihood, to appear equal to men. Whether all women are sincerely pleased with these circumstances, and whether they are happy and satisfied with the results, is a different matter. But the fact remains that whatever rights modern Western women have, they fall short of those of her Muslim counterpart! Islam has given woman what duties her female nature. It gives her full security and protects her against becoming what Western modern women themselves complain against: a "mere sex object."
Islam considers a women and a man equal as eyes of a face , indeed they are made of soul with the same nature as man's.

Allah (SWT) says in the Quran:
"O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person (Adam), and from him (Adam) He created his wife (Eve), and from them both He created many men and women and fear Allah through Whom you demand your mutual (rights), and (do not cut the relations of) the wombs (kinship). Surely, Allah is Ever and All-Watcher over you." (Al-Nisa 4:1)

And in the words of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW),
"Assuredly, women are the twin halves of men." (Sahih reported by Abu-Dawud (RA)

In islamic law a women is an unique individual in her own right , she has the same reponsibilities in ibadah , in shahadah , in aamal  as same given to a man. At the qiyamah also she will not be given ease , or honour due to her any sin or deed  - ALLAH subhanawataAllah judgment will not differ in men and women.

Any kind of compulsion on women :-

There is no compulsion in religion according to the Quran:

"There is no compulsion in religion. Verily, the Right Path has become distinct from the wrong path. Whoever disbelieves in Taghut [anything worshipped other then the Real God (Allah)] and believes in Allah, then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that will never break. And Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower."
(Al-Baqarah 2:256)

A Muslim woman is not permitted to change her family name to her husband’s name upon marriage.
She is always known by her father’s name, as a mark of her own identity.
In choosing a marriage partner, her consent to accept or reject any prospective suitor for marriage must be respected.
A Muslim woman has the right to seek divorce, if necessary within the laws of Islam.

Women's right to go outside of her home:-

Muslim women are not forbidden from going out in the community, working, or visiting relatives and female friends, if there is no objection from their guardian/husband and they are covered and behave and speak according to Islamic guidelines and, if necessary, escorted by their Mahram (a close male relative). However, a woman’s home should be the main base that she works from.

Allah (SWT) instructed the wife’s of the Prophet (SAW):

"O wives of the Prophet! You are not like any other women. If you keep your duty (to Allah), then be not soft in speech, lest he is whose heart is a disease (of hypocrisy or evil desire for adultery, etc.) should be moved with desire, but speak in an honorable manner. And stay in your houses, and do not display yourselves like that of the times of ignorance, and offer prayers perfectly (Iqamat-as-Salat), and give Zakat and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah wishes only to remove Ar-Rijs (evil deeds and sins, etc.) from you, O members of the family [of the Prophet (SAW)], and to purify you with a thorough purification." (Al-Ahzab 33:32-33)

Women's right in education:-

In the words of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW):

"Whoever follows a way to seek knowledge, Allah will make easy for him a way to paradise." (Declared Authentic By Shaikh Muhammad Naasir-ud-Deen Al-Albaani)
A woman in Islam has the right to knowledge and education. Allah (SWT) encourages women to read and keep up the learning process. He also bestows His mercy upon all who seek knowledge, and gives them high status.

"O you who believe! When you are told to make room in the assemblies, (spread out and) make room. Allah will give you (ample) room (from His Mercy). And when you are told to rise up (for prayers, Jihad, or for any other good deed), rise up. Allah will exalt in degree those of you who believe, and those who have been granted knowledge. And Allah is Well-Acquainted with what you do. (Al-Mujadilah 58:11)

This is referring to religious knowledge, in the first place, and to any other kind of knowledge, in the second place, where one has the intention of benefiting herself, her family and the Islamic society.

Additionally, a husband should not forbid his wife from going out of the house to seek basic religious knowledge, unless he is teaching her at home.

Women's right in seeking employment:-

If you take a look at many societies today, a woman is only valued and considered important if she performs the functions of a man, (while at the same time displaying her feminine attractions to the public). While these women may carry the immense responsibility of bearing and rearing children, you have to admit that they may still be at par with men in nearly every area of life. The result is the present-day confusion concerning sex role differentiation, resulting in very large numbers of divorces and emotionally distraught children.

While Islam does not prohibit women working outside the home, it does stipulate that the following restrictions be followed to safeguard the dignity and honor of women and the purity and stability of the Islamic society, (the conduct of women, after all, is the "backbone" of any society):

1- Her working should not effect her responsibility as a wife or mother .

2- Her working should not be the reason for conflicts in the home, but it should be with mutual agreement of the husband , and if the girl is not married then with the mutual agreement of guardians/ parents.

3- Her appearence should follow islamic guidelines which are ( restraining her glances in relation to any men near the work place, wearing correct Islamic dress, avoiding men, not walking in a provocative manner, and not using make-up or perfume in public.)

4- Her job should try to seek employment in positions which require a woman’s special skills, or which relate to the needs of women and children, such as teaching, nursing other women, midwifery, medicine with specialization’s like pediatric or obstetrics-gynecology.

THE RIGHT OF A MUSLIM WOMAN IS TO BE RESPECTED FOR HER MIND AND FOR BEING HER OWN PERSON !!!
